To encourage civic education and participation, the Los Angeles County Office of Education and the Sacramento County Office of Education created a curriculum entitled, 'We Draw the Lines!,' which explores redistricting, its connection to the US Census, and its importance in maintaining democracy in America.

This curriculum was designed to help students understand the significance of redistricting, reapportionment and the 2020 Census, gerrymandering, packing and cracking, the political and economic consequences of redistricting, and what citizens can do to take informed action to be involved in redistricting decisions.
